True Love is not Found, It is Built.

Artwork © 2019 Akiirah: Excerpt from my philosophy: "True love isn't an encounter, it is built. It isn't how many years you were together, but what you did over all those years to make it count. It isn't a fuzzy feeling or a flush of Oxytocin, but a consistent commitment. It's years of consistent dedication, effort and sacrifice, wounding and healing, growing and learning, investing and being rewarded by it. It's loving them beyond the idea of a relationship, but to the reality and practicality of one. It’s learning to become “Strong and Dependable”, rather than just “Strong and Independent”. It is a leap of faith, and there’s plenty of reasons to avoid it all together. But at the heart of it, I’ve illustrated perhaps what it may feel like, if the epitome has been reached." – 0.7mm lead on sepia paper (No references used).

I use an iterative drawing process, similar to my digital work; by first capturing the form / posture / body language and laying out the composition. And with each successive step increasing the pressure on my pencil and fleshing out the details.
